Tawny style port, 10 years old, made with Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The most decadent of our ports with flavors of caramel, nut, raisin and toffee. The perfect wine for a special moment.
As always, this is a blend of almost all the wines we make. We then add 25% of our Port to the wine and give it just a little more time in oak. Each bottling is slightly different but always with 25% Port.
Widely known as California's signature grape, Zinfandel enjoys the long and dry growing season of Lodi in the well-draining sandy-loam soils of the Mokelumne River sub-AVA. This exotic black grape has a unique tendency to ripen unevenly, leaving some grapes to raisin on the vine before others reach full maturity. It is this extended hang-time, which creates an intense concentration of sugar in the fruit, that brings out the robust flavor of the varietal while naturally maintaining some residual sugar.
